Baltic Birch Ply (1/4" x 2' x 2')

This style of plywood is commonly used for fine furniture and cabinet-making, noted by it's grade "B" rating. High quality plywood has little to no defects such as streaks, knots, or cracks on the face & back veneer. It's core also has a stronger integrity and smoother profile than typical filler plies. In lower quality plywood, unevenness throughout the inner core will telegraph through to the surface and appear in the face veneer. The pale yellow color of Baltic birch ply and it's mild grain patterning make it a popular and consistent option for larger projects. Employing a blade with a high tooth-count and/or applying masking tape over your cut line can contribute to a finer edge when cutting, and finishing your edges with a router outfitted with round-over bit can establish a uniform finishing edge with minimal splintering.
